Potato Starch
Potato starch, CAS No. is 9005-25-8, is a commonly used starch in households. It is made by grinding potatoes, washing them and precipitating them. It has sufficient viscosity, fine texture, white color and excellent gloss, but has poor water absorption. When water is added and heated, it will condense into a transparent viscous consistency.
Applications:
Potato starch is widely used in the food industry. It can be used as filler and icing in candies, processed into noodles in pasta, added to meat products to maintain the color of the meat, and used in yogurt to increase the viscosity, transparency and taste, used in sauces to stabilize product quality and reduce product stratification. Food additives potato starch is also often used in the production of instant noodles, which can improve the gloss and rehydration of the noodles, and improve the elasticity and tenacity of the noodles.
Potato starch powder is also increasingly used in other industries. Adding it to printing and dyeing slurries can make paper and paper have better color and quality. Adding potato starch to rubber not only has a filling effect, but also enhances the strength, hardness and wear resistance of rubber products.
