Calcium Propionate

Calcium propionate is an acid-type food/feed preservative that produces free propionic acid under acidic conditions, which has antibacterial properties. It is a new, safe, and efficient mold inhibitor used in various aspects of food, brewing, feed, and traditional Chinese medicine preparations. Calcium propionate has wide applications in many fields.

Food additive: Calcium propionate is widely used as a preservative and fermentation agent in food. It can prolong the shelf life and improve the texture and mouthfeel of food, making baked goods like bread and cakes softer.

Animal feed: Calcium propionate is added to animal feed as a calcium supplement, which can enhance feed absorption and growth, as well as improve bone health in animals.
 

Lactose

Food Industry:

Lactose is widely used in food industry. It can be used as a sweetener to enhance the sweetness of food. Compared to sucrose, lactose has a relatively lower level of sweetness, but it can improve the texture and flavor of food. Lactose can also be used as a stabilizer and emulsifier in food, improving the texture and prolonging the shelf life.

Pharmaceutical Industry:

Lactose also has important uses in pharmaceutical field. It can be used as an excipient in the production of solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules.Lactose has good flowability and compressibility, which can enhance the stability and processability of solid dosage forms. Furthermore, lactose can be used as a protectant to shield certain drugs from moisture and light.
