Sodium Citrate
Sodium citrate, CAS NO. is: 6132-04-3, also known as trisodium citrate, is a sodium salt of organic acid. Appearance: white to colorless crystals, with a cool salty taste, stable in the air, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, the aqueous solution is slightly alkaline.
Applications:
Sodium Citrate BP/USP is used as a food additive, mainly used as a flavoring agent, expanding agent, stabilizer, buffer, and emulsifier. In addition, sodium citrate and citric acid can also be used in various pastries, cold drinks, juices, etc. Flavoring agents, gelling agents and nutritional supplements for beverages, cold drinks, dairy products and jams.
In medicine, sodium citrate powder has a long-lasting anticoagulant effect and can preserve blood for a long time. It also has antiseptic properties and is used for long-term storage of some medications.
In the construction industry, sodium citrate can be added as a retardant when making concrete, which can improve the frost resistance, compression resistance and tensile resistance of cement products. It can also remove sulfide from industrial exhaust gas.
Sodium citrate has good complexing properties and is widely used in industrial production. In addition, it is also used in grinding aid and whitening technology in the manufacturing of nanomaterials and ceramic industries.
In the washing industry, using sodium citrate instead of sodium tripolyphosphate can not only improve the decontamination effect, but also reduce environmental pollution. Special cleaning agents are also used to remove pesticide residues on the surfaces of vegetables and fruits.
