Tween 80, also known as Polysorbate 80, is a non-ionic surfactant and emulsifier, which is polymerized from sorbitan monooleate and ethylene oxide. The CAS NO. is: 9005-65-6. Easily soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, vegetable oil, ethyl acetate, methanol, toluene, but insoluble in mineral oil. It becomes gelatinous at low temperatures and recovers when heated. It has a special odor and a slightly bitter taste.

Applications:

Pharmaceutical industry: Tween 80 can be used as a solubilizer for many poorly soluble drugs, such as some antibiotics, volatile oils and other organic substances, thereby increasing their solubility and enhancing their effectiveness. When preparing some liquid preparations, it can be used as a drug carrier to help disperse and stabilize the drug.

Cosmetic industry: Tween 80 has good emulsifying and moistening properties, which can mix water and oil substances evenly to form a stable emulsion, and enhance the moisturizing performance of the product.
