PVP K30
Polyvinylpyrrolidone , CAS No. is 9003-39-8, is a white or nearly white powder that is easy to flow, has a slight odor, is hydrophilic, is stable at normal temperatures and pressures, and is easily soluble in water. According to different molecular weights, there are types such as PVP K15, PVPK30, PVPK60, and PVP K90.
Applications:
Pharmaceutical grade PVP can be used as a binder for tablets and granules, a co-solvent for injections, a prolongation agent for eye drops, a lubricant, a dispersant for liquid preparations, a stabilizer for heat-sensitive drugs, and a cryogenic preservative. PVP is used in contact lenses to increase hydrophilicity and lubricity.
In the food processing industry, PVP is mainly used as a clarifier and stabilizer for beer, juice, wine and other food products, playing a clarifying and anti-coagulant role.
PVP has good dispersion and molding properties and can be used in styling liquids, hair gels, hair conditioners, shampoos and hair dyes. Adding PVP to sunscreen and hair removal agents can enhance the moisturizing and lubricating effects.
